About Us

The primary objective of the OSU Automation Society is to spread knowledge and awareness of automation as a career choice, provide professional understanding to coursework, and to enhance learning that will facilitate easier transition of students from academia to industry.

The OSU Automation Society was started in October 2010 by a group of students from 4 engineering disciplines (ChE, ECEN, MAE & IEM). Rohit S.Kadam was the brainchild behind this pioneering effort. Dr. R. Russell Rhinehart (Professor & Amoco Chair, ChE) has been the Faculty Advisor since the chapter's inception. Dr.He,Bai (Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering) is the current Faculty Advisor and Bindu Kasturi (Masters Student, Mechanical Engineering) is the current President. OSU Automation Society is recognized by the OSU Student Government Association (SGA) and chartered as a Student Section by the Board of the International Society of Automation (ISA), headquartered at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Over the last six years, the organization has made rapid stridesThe OSU Automation Society is comprised of over 150 student members. The activities of the organization range from field trips to industries, lab tours, networking events, and the biggest event of the year, the OSU Automation Day.
